Saturday Matinée - Reopen The Regent
Saturday Matinée - Reopen The Regent
Limited edition high quality A4 print.
I'm very proud of this illustration - The Regent Cinema is a beautiful art deco building in Kent and was a cinema from the 1940s to the 1960s when it then became a bingo hall. Unfortunately the building is now derelict, despite promises that it will become a cinema again - there is a brilliant local movement called Reopen The Regent who are campaigning for this.
I decided to draw it, but not in it's current state - my interpretation is that the cinema is open - the doors are open, the flag is up and there are movie billboards on the outside. As an added twist, my illustration was done completely in biro!
This print of the original is on high quality 300 gsm architect's plan paper, hand signed, embossed and numbered. A limited edition of just 50 worldwide.
The print comes with two free kraft art postcards with Reopen The Regent above the illustration.
Available either as local pick up from myself in Walmer, or sent in a board backed envelope for protection. If you'd prefer to pay cash on collection, please drop me a message to reserve one.
